“Colonel Mike”
Between Two Worlds (BTW) is written by “Colonel Mike,” a military veteran with over two decades of service. He is the son of loving parents who grew up in the Jim Crow south. They instilled in Colonel Mike a reverence for the struggles of African Americans throughout history, the sacrifices of those who served in uniform despite institutional racism, and the importance of treating others with dignity and respect even if they disagree with you.
He is currently working on the forthcoming book, Between Two Worlds: Growing up Black in White, Upper Middle-class America, Lessons on Healing the Divide. Based on his life experiences, the book provides Colonel Mike’s perspective on issues regarding race and offers solutions to increase mutual understanding.
